World No. 1 Novak Djokovic on Tuesday thanked his longtime fitness coach Marko Panici for his many years of service, marking the latest reorganization of the 24-time Grand Slam champion’s camp and their collaboration. It was suggested that it had come to an end.

The Serbian player ended his five-year partnership with Croatian coach Goran Ivanisevic last month after the latter’s early exit from Indian Wells and is considering operating without a coach. He said he is doing so.

Panici, an Italian, joined Djokovic’s team in 2017 as a fitness coach.

Djokovic said on Instagram: “Over the years we have had a great working relationship. We have reached peaks, won titles, and broken records. But most of all, we are the best at training in and out of the gym. I enjoyed my ‘normal’ days,” he wrote. .

“Thank you for all the energy, effort and time you invested in making me the best player and person possible. Lots of love.”

Djokovic missed the Madrid Open this year to focus on the Grand Slam and the upcoming Olympics in Paris, but is scheduled to play in Rome.
