Financial services company Zerodha, which encouraged its employees to focus on their health during the 2020 Covid pandemic, has now made fitness the norm.

In the latest initiative, Zerodha Chief Nithin Kamath set new health challenges for employees to dedicate time to work out/exercise/sports activities.

Zerodha employees are given the option to set daily activity goals on the company’s fitness trackers. This isn’t the first time Zerodha founder Kamath has announced such a wellness initiative for his company’s employees.

Last year, Kamas also announced a similar health challenge for its employees. Kamas said the company has launched a “12-Month Health Goals” program to encourage people to prioritize their health amid the pandemic.

To ensure accountability and increase participation, the CEO announced that everyone who met their goals would receive a bonus month’s salary and be eligible for a lucky draw. ¥100,000 rupees.

On World Health Day this year, Kamas said anyone with a BMI of less than 25 would get half a month’s salary as a bonus. Taking to social media, Kamath said anyone with a body mass index (BMI) below 25 is eligible for half a month’s salary as a bonus.
