An Israeli street food restaurant is expanding to Chicago. Zalman’sKosher American-style chain serving hot dogs and other American street food with locations throughout Israel (5 locations in Jerusalem and 1 locations in Lod, Bnei Brak, Tel Aviv, Ra’anana, and Bet Shemesh) is opening soon in West Rogers Park. . This restaurant offers a taste of Jerusalem and originally started out as a staple on Ben Yehuda Street.
The hot dog is wrapped in a soft roll, served with fries or onion rings, and comes with your choice of mayonnaise, garlic, relish, tomato, sauerkraut, green pepper, chimichurri, ketchup, mustard, or sweet chili.
Examples from Israeli restaurants include toasted sandwiches featuring schnitzel, sausage, smoked turkey, beef shoulder, and pastrami. The street cafe will also have an assortment of sauces that customers can use to tailor their hot dogs and sandwiches to their tastes.
