Yuri, a 30-year-old singer-songwriter, revealed her diagnosis of panic disorder and agoraphobia in a YouTube video posted on September 14. Yuri explained that she has suffered from these symptoms for a long time, affecting her ability to carry out everyday activities such as using elevators and traveling on airplanes.
In a video titled “Explaining why I’ve been taking a recent break,” Yuri revealed that she had started experiencing symptoms such as trouble sleeping and palpitations. Worried that her symptoms were worsening, she went to see a doctor, who diagnosed her with panic disorder and agoraphobia. She said that while she takes prescription medication during difficult times, she is trying to improve her mental state by making lifestyle changes, such as exercising less and cutting down on social media use.
Yuri also wrote to X: “I’m sure there are others out there who are struggling with the same thing as me. I’ve tried a lot of different things and it’s helped. I hope it helps some others too. Sorry for taking a break from YouTube. Please check me out.“
He said he hopes to connect with others facing similar hardships, saying: “There are probably many people going through the same thing, and I would like to share what helped me to deal with this issue.He also plans to share his own mental health care regimen in an upcoming video.
