Kothrud, March 21, 2023: Bhugaon resident Amol Shankar Nakate, 21, died while exercising in an open gym at Right Bhusari Colony. The incident occurred around 8:00 a.m. and is currently under investigation by police.
Amol was exercising daily with his friends at Mitra Mandal Ground in Busari Colony, where he received an electric shock. The toes turned black and blue due to the electric current running through their feet.
His friends rushed him to nearby Sahyadri Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.
According to doctors, this may have been the cause of his death. However, a post-mortem report from Sassoon Hospital is still pending and an official cause of death has yet to be confirmed.
Chief Inspector Hemant Patil of Kothrud Police Station, Firefighter Patharkar, MSEDCK Officer Salunkhe, former co-operator Alpana Vara and Prashant Kanojia visited the scene.
