Several organizations, including the York/Adam’s Drug and Alcohol Committee and York Opioid cooperation, have worked together to distribute Narcan, an overdose reversal drug. The group holds handouts on the fourth Tuesday of each month. The distribution is located at 101 S. George Street. Those who show up to get the drug for free will receive simple training on how to manage it and how to receive a Narcan kit. The organizers urge everyone to ask Narcan to help save lives. The distribution is Narcan, also known as naloxone, from 10am to 2pm, which can block the effects of opioids and help people experiencing overdose. It’s effective in just 2-3 minutes. Medical professionals have used naloxone for over 40 years. It is now available at the counter.
