The nascent Alt musician will release a new single ahead of his sophomore EP.
He’s the son of John Wozniak, lead singer of 90s band Mercy Playground, so music literally runs through Woz’s veins. Woz has inherited his father’s career thread, but his multi-instrumental prowess proves that an artist can stand on his own feet. Woz’s full-time occupation is not music, but his graveyard has moved to Gulf his oil, pumping gasoline for his ultimate dream: music.
Listeners around the world, grappling with life’s shocking facts—family relationships, childhood trauma, sleep-inducing suburbs—resonate with Woz’s searing intimacy. Drawing inspiration from a wealth of influences, from classical to alto to hard rock, Woz blends the past to deliver the future.
Reflecting on how the song came about, Woz said: I was addicted to drugs and alcohol, my friends could hardly recognize who I had changed, and they were afraid of my actions. I wrote guitar riffs on my manager’s couch and kept them for the studio. It went through various lyrical stages, but ultimately pulled from the darkest period of my life. “
