Worker Says Customer was Shocked at Salt’s Sodium Content

by Universalwellnesssystems

When working with customers, you’re likely to come across a fair amount of strange questions. Customer interactions typically range from the normal to the abusive to the bizarre, so ask any retail or food service employee and they’ll quickly answer any odd question they hear on the job. It will get you excited.

One such question recently sparked a discussion after being posted on TikTok by user Jenna (@jennawallacegood).

In a video that had more than 40,000 views as of Saturday, Jenna claimed customers had expressed concerns about the sodium content of the product. That item was salt.

“I used to work at this organic grocery store and everyone who shopped there was obsessed with being healthy. I was obsessed,” she recalls.

She describes an experience in which a woman came to the register and put down a bag of salt. But before paying her, she stopped and said she wanted to see how much sodium was in the salt.

“I’m like, ‘Okay,'” Jenna says in the video. “She grabbed her bag, looked at her bag, and said, ‘Oh my God, there’s too much sodium.’ She’s in a bag of salt. It’s sodium.”

By the way, table salt is a compound known as sodium chloride (NaCl). Unsurprisingly, anything called “sodium chloride” contains a fair amount of sodium. in particular, about 40% The component of NaCl is sodium.

In the comments section, some users tried to justify her question.

“To be fair, it’s on the low salt side, but it doesn’t sound like an ‘oops I bought the wrong product,'” one user shared.

However, the majority of the comments section consists of users sharing their stories about questionable queries.

“I once had a client who wondered why we had to add chemicals to the water,” wrote one user. “It said H2O on the bottle.”

“I was asked how many extra peanuts were in my crispy peanut butter jar,” added another.

“I worked at a fast food MX restaurant and someone asked for cheese crisps without cheese,” claimed a third person.

“Working as a server, someone asked me what’s the difference between wings and boneless wings,” said an additional commenter.
