Wolves mental health video goes viral on social media

A football club’s video encouraging people to talk about mental health has been praised on social media for its “powerful” message.

10 minute videowas filmed before Wolves’ match against Luton, capturing fans’ reactions to a sign raising awareness of suicide.

Many people shared their stories, but it had an even bigger impact online, with 8.7 million people watching on X.

Artist Leepa said she has received an overwhelming amount of positive feedback and is grateful to those who have reached out.

One user wrote: “This is so moving. Such a beautiful and powerful gesture. I literally had tears in my eyes within the first minute of watching it.”

Another said: “Well done. We need to look out for each other. We all get swept up in the darkness at some point. We just need a little support to get through it.” wrote.

In the film, Ripa stands blindfolded and holds a sign highlighting how common suicide is among both men and women.

Passersby shared hugs with him and stories of their struggles with mental health, prompting people to share their experiences on social media.

“For others who have been inspired by watching me grow, keep trying and know that you are blessed,” he added.

This also led to X users reaching out and inviting their fans to gather and watch future matches together.

“Please don’t suffer in silence. There will always be someone who will listen,” the club posted.

“Seeing how much football means to the fans and how much of an impact we really have on people’s lives made me think about that.

“They work all week to come watch us kick football so they can put things in perspective,” he added.
