A staple in many cuisines around the world, white rice has long been loved for its versatility and pleasing allure. Now is the time to rediscover the benefits that humble grains bring to our table. Certainly white rice is highly processed. Removing the shell and crushing removes the fiber component and loses many nutrients. And its high starch content makes it unfavorable for weight loss diets. But should rice be eliminated from the diet entirely?
In an Instagram post, the nutritionist revealed that switching from wheat roti to white rice is a good idea for those suffering from PCOS, endometriosis, IBS, insulin sensitivity, IBS, and even SIBO. “Switch to white rice for a while or permanently to see the effect on your symptoms,” she added in the caption.
She shared some suggestions on how to eat white rice correctly. But before we talk about it, let’s see if white rice offers us any benefits.

  • White rice is naturally gluten-free, making it a safe option for those with gluten sensitivities or celiac disease.

With these benefits, it’s not a bad idea to consume white rice if you have PCOD, IBD, or any of the other problems mentioned above. But the right amount is the key to reaping the benefits of white rice. Nutritionist Rashi Chowdhury shared these tips to follow when eating white rice.

3 things to watch out for when eating white rice:

1. Consume enough vegetables and protein together so you can control your portion size.

2. If you have a sensitive gut, eat white rice over brown rice or wheat roti. Your gut may not be able to tolerate the arsenic levels found in brown rice.

3. To make rice, use the best fat medium for cooking, such as ghee coconut oil, avocado oil, mustard oil.

Don’t forget to use these tips to balance your intake of good fiber and nutrients that are lost in white rice. The mild flavor of white rice goes well with a wide variety of dishes, from stir-fries and curries to biryani and sushi. Also remember to control the amount of white rice in your diet.
