At her 2023 Washington State Reform Health Policy Conference in January, we sat down with Birch to hear her thoughts on what healthcare policymakers should prioritize.

we have Health Cost Transparency Commission, and they’re really trying to reconcile all the variability and confusion about “what is the true cost of healthcare?” Because there are benchmarks set and they keep shutting out other parts of society that need the money they need so frankly this is unacceptable because we really want to curb the growth of this kind of exorbitant cost trend .
