Every October 15th through December 7th, Medicare gives you the option to change your Medicare coverage. Any changes made during this Medicare Open enrollment period will take effect on January 1 of the following year.

During the open registration period, you can choose to:
- From Original Medicare (also known as Traditional Medicare) Medicare Advantage plan
- Switching from Medicare Advantage to Original Medicare
- Switch from one Medicare Advantage plan to another
- register with Medicare Part D A prescription drug plan (or switch to a new Medicare Part D prescription drug plan if you were already enrolled in your original Medicare)
