Van Cleve, Mississippi (WLOX) – Members of Pine Lake Baptist Church are learning what young people experience in crisis situations.
“This is a concern I have dealt with over the years as a pastor, and I am learning some new things here, some helpful things,” said Reverend Rendall Cofield. I got
Cofield says churches across the country should focus on children’s mental health.
“The mere fact that there are so many children in our culture, communities, and churches today who are struggling with mental health issues, is the outreach and health effort to support these children. , and connected ministries are really needed,” he said.
Nicole Bedsall of the Southern Mississippi Mental Health Association says it can be difficult to look for signs in a child in need, but there are signs.
“That’s when young people are unable to carry out their daily activities,” she said. I don’t want to do any sporting activities.”
“We have a very pressing need for this in our schools and communities,” says Rendall. “Being able to connect with these kids who suffer from a variety of problems that often fly under the radar and go unrecognized.”
“I think this kind of training is good for letting everyone know. We learn CPR and first aid. Something that can help individuals going through a mental health crisis.” Would you like to learn?” said Bedsall.
