ETHealthworld Editor Shahid Akhter spoke to Founder and CEO Vaibhav Jain, Aayush Bharat, about the emerging trends in Ayurvedic care that leverage technology to facilitate diagnosis and treatment.
AYUSH: Opportunity
Ayush is a short form of Ayurveda, Yoga, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. All of this is based on the wisdom of traditional treatments. Today, many people die from lifestyle-related diseases. We live in an era of powerful communication and information that can prevent many diseases and help people survive and thrive. However, we still lack the ability to do so. The challenge I feel today is awareness and acceptance. Then you need a quick fix. He wants the order delivered within 8 minutes. However, it is necessary to understand that the diseases that we acquire do not appear in a few minutes. Therefore, the solution is not something that can be obtained in a few minutes either. We have to be more patient and more aware of our bodies. Thirdly, we have to decide where we want Ayush to go and where we want modern medicine to go. This conflict and confusion must be dealt with in an effective manner.
Ayush's challenge
Take a look at how yoga started in India and has since changed the lives of people all over the world. Ayurveda is a comprehensive system of yoga and has similar functions. Today, people lack awareness about the lifestyle diseases that Ayush can prevent. Then, when we have a chronic illness, we look for medicine. How these drugs treat us may be controversial. Ayurveda, on the other hand, has been proven over centuries to treat these illnesses, including mental illness and infertility, in an effective manner. We need to evaluate how we can utilize traditional treatments to create sustainable and healthy products. Ayush is a field where clinical trials can be conducted based on the right principles and fundamentals and regulations should be set accordingly.

Another important aspect is the implementation of modern technology. Today, we are equipped with the latest types of equipment and diagnostic techniques powered by technology that can be combined with Ayurveda to develop effective solutions. This could open up many international opportunities to provide comprehensive and personalized care.
Ayush Market
We have the world's youngest population, and our youth has the greatest impact on our country's economy. On the other hand, some people die from diabetes or heart attacks at a very young age. If Ayurveda is not utilized properly, India, instead of becoming the strongest country in the world, could become one of the sickest countries in the world. The global health market is expected to reach approximately $14 trillion by 2030, and India's Ayush market is currently worth $16 billion. It is expected to reach $40 million by 2027 and $60 billion by 2030 at a CAGR of 15%. This means that this segment has a lot of support from the people and the Indian government's policies are also favorable.
Ayush Bharat: Ideas and Concepts
When I was working in America, I was diagnosed with gouty arthritis. At that time, I was told that this disease was incurable. I took medication, but it didn't work and instead ruined all my efficiency. However, I was fortunate to meet Ayurveda practitioners from the most remote parts of the country who helped me. Today I have followed the diet and lifestyle changes he suggested and have not faced any problems till now. Many people have faced this situation many times. Ayush comes to help them. People who have lost all hope are now finding an effective Ayush solution.
Being from India, a country with a rich tradition of Ayurveda and other traditional medicines, we have an advantage. But even in 2021, finding Ayush experts remained a challenge. There was no platform where I could find and consult a suitable Ayurvedic doctor. So, my co-founders Vishal and Abhinav and I talked to launch a platform to help such people. That was the idea behind the birth of Aayush Bharat. Initially, we started with Ayurveda, but soon realized that people also wanted to explore other traditional practices (Yoga, Siddha, Unani, Homeopathy). We thought of bringing all of that together and launching a solution where all Ayush doctors can come together in his one place online and leverage technology to provide solutions. Audio-video consultation sessions are now also held for people.
Ayush Bharat: Connectivity Platform
We currently cover 60% of the region, but we want to go deeper into the most remote areas of the country. We have also established approximately 300+ cloud clinics, which will serve as fulfillment centers and telemedicine partners. These centers will be places where people can consult a doctor and, if needed, receive medicine directly from the clinic.
We are currently working to make these services and products more affordable. AayushBharat has launched some highly effective products to boost immunity and men's health. These products will also be available on our platform and other platforms. Starting with men's wellness, we will expand to other categories. We are committed to making the right products at the right price for the larger population, making India healthy and making the dream of Ayush Bharat a reality.
