Salt Lake City — What has anyone with a sick baby or child likely been through? drugs are hard to find Like Tylenol or ibuprofen for kids. And with holiday times an added hurdle, helping sick children can be a desperate hunt.
Pleasant Grove’s mother Amanda Ebmeyer said, “I know a lot of mothers struggle.
Both of her children fell ill while on a family vacation in California. She was in the same boat as her friend who posted on her Facebook.
“It’s heartbreaking to hear them crying in pain. You don’t even have medicine to help them,” she said of the children.
Ebmeyer considered going to urgent care on Sunday, Christmas Day, but found the place closed.
Luckily, she had just found an inventory of Tylenol for kids in California the day before. I made a request to After all, they had drugs on their shelves that people were looking for everywhere.
Knowing her parents in Utah couldn’t find anything, she posted to a Facebook group for parents in Utah, and a few people immediately filled out the order.
“Everybody’s like, ‘Give me one! Give me one!’ We all have sick babies and it’s so hard to see kids sick and unable to help,” she said.
She knows how important the medication is for managing fevers and symptoms and keeping children out of the clinic during this busy time of the year. Said the wait was long.
When she returns to Utah, Ebmeyer will bring the peace that children and their parents have been waiting for. She said she has already arranged deliveries to some.
Ebmeyer hopes others will do the same and post what they see in stores to help parents find the drug they’re looking for.
“I really hope that I will have the opportunity to help others, and when I saw Tylenol, I thought, ‘This is one of the ways I can help in some small way,'” Ebmeyer said. Told. “So I don’t think I’m doing anything brave or great. I’m just helping another mother in need.”
