X App users are furious at individuals trying to sell human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) treatment drugs.
Vendors have announced their intention to sell unopened HIV medicines due to reported drug supply problems.
The seller said there were 5 sealed sets and 1 opened but almost full set. The user also disclaimed any responsibility for side effects.
An image attached to the post revealed more than 10 drugs being sold. A new Straits Times investigation reveals that Tenof-Em (300mg) is priced at RM155 per bottle for 30 tablets, with users owning seven bottles for a total of RM1,085. Ta.
Efavirenz tablets (600mg), on the other hand, range from RM100 to RM150 per bottle for 30 tablets. The user had 6 bottles, so the total cost was between RM600 and RM900.
Concerned netizens flooded the comments section, tagging the Ministry of Health's official X account and urging action against the user.
In response, the ministry said, “The Ministry of Health takes this matter seriously and has reported it to the relevant authorities to take further action.”
Some users expressed dissatisfaction and advised the seller to return the drug to the hospital if they do not intend to use it within the specified period.
Some also questioned the legality of selling highly active antiretroviral therapy drugs on social media, stressing the importance of returning the drugs or giving them for free to those in need. .
In his defense, the user claimed there was no evidence he sold drugs and said no transaction took place.
Shortly after the initial response, MOH issued an official statement on the issue.
