The University Grants Commission (UGC) has issued guidelines to promote physical fitness, sports, student health, wellbeing, psychological and emotional well-being in Indian Higher Education Institutions (HEIs).

Student Service Center (SSC):
All higher education institutions have a Student Service Center (SSC) that is responsible for coping and managing issues related to stress and emotional adjustment.
The SSC includes competent physical and mental health counselors, physical and mental health professionals, and physical/physiological and psychological assessment tools to inform, assess, and guide students. You need the resources you need. The SSC provides counseling, guidance, physical and mental health services online, in person, by telephone helpline, or in group counseling sessions, depending on the circumstances.
Physical strength: Higher education institutions should focus on physical activity to ensure that all students maintain physical and mental health. Physical activity participation and grading should be part of the credit system for evaluation for promotion to the next semester.
Institutions should be prepared to host intramural sports tournaments once a week. Participation in these weekly tournaments should be encouraged and profitable with rewards and honors.
