Love Popeyes chicken but are you on a diet?
Personal Trainer and Nutritionist in New Jersey Here’s how to make a meal at a national chicken chain restaurant for less than 500 calories.

He enters a Popeye’s in Paramus and asks for eight blacked-out bid tags (a box of 3 and a box of 5). Then ask about shredded lettuce, tomatoes, and other toppings.
The cashier, off camera, tells Ballantine that they have jalapenos, pickles, and mayonnaise.
He ordered a small Coke Zero (zero calories) with buffalo sauce on the side.
“The food is ready, gentlemen,” cried Ballantine. “I baked eight blackened tenders, about 450 calories.”

He slices up jalapeños and pickles (for an extra 20 to 30 calories) and adds them to the box along with 20 to 30 calories worth of buffalo sauce to “make the bowl.”

“We’re going to shake it up,” he said of the ingredients in the box, then noted that the meal has about 495 calories, 68 grams of protein, and $25.04.
The minute-long clip, which has been viewed more than 111,400 times, prompted several questions from commenters.
One person wanted to know why Ballantine didn’t buy five tenders and a small mashed potato (regular mashed potatoes with Cajun gravy has 110 calories) instead.
“The protein to calorie ratio has improved,” Ballantine explained.
Others have noted the high sodium content of the diet.
“Factors such as sweat, body temperature, physical activity, genetics and altitude come into play,” Ballantine reasoned about sodium intake.
“Tried this. It’s good. Just spicy,” another person shared.
Ballantine visits various places fast food restaurant and grocery store and make recommendations regarding his diet TikTok page.
There are more than 3,000 Popeye restaurants nationwide.
