Haley Atwell appeared in a recent episode of the “Reign with Josh Smith” podcast, celebrating Mission: Impossible co-star Tom Cruise, who helped her fight social anxiety in Hollywood. Atwell will make his franchise debut as Grace in 2023’s “Mission: Impossible – Dead Record” and will recreate the role of this summer’s “Mission: Impossible – Final Calculation.”
“Social unrest tends to be something people say at this point, right? And a lot of people have social unrest one day,” Atwell told Josh Smith. “It manifests in many ways, but PEP speaks [Tom] He helped me with that. You walk into your room and feel anxious and want to retreat to yourself. Does it look troublesome? “We entered ourselves and Tom said: “Try the opposite.”
Cruz told Atwell:
“If I watch it long enough, anxiety can have a name,” explained Atwell. “Can it have a label or what happens, I go: “Oh, you’re really jealous”, “I’m really lonely” or “I’m really scared of that person’s talent and confidence.” As soon as I mention what it really is, I actually have the opportunity to do something about it.
“Dead Reckoning” was slightly overwhelmed at the box office with $571 million worldwide, but the chemistry of Atwell and Cruise was widely praised by film critics. The “Mission: Impossible” series is Atwell’s second major Hollywood franchise after his job as Peggy Carter in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The actor sang Cruz’s praises in past interviews, Guardian Earlier this year, he was “very kind and very professional.”
“When I started, I was very aware of the rare atmosphere around him and the lack of anyone like him,” Atwell said. “And because he’s not made like an actor… he’s a studio in one place, and that’s why I felt I could try a lot of different things, never failing or unsafe risks.
