After achieving incredible things with subcutaneous glucose-tracking patches, healthtech startup Ultrahuman is looking to enhance our way of life with wearables that literally fit on our fingers.
The company made headlines with M1, a simple arm patch that constantly monitors blood sugar (CGM) levels. Acting like a glucose test kit used by diabetics, this tiny patch was able to constantly provide real-time feedback on their glucose levels. The M1 was just a stepping stone for a company aiming higher in the health tech space. The ultrahuman ring can track your metabolism and health by relying on an array of sensors that detect movement, temperature and heart rate.

The Ultra Human Ring is an edgy, minimal design, a slightly sleek looking device that fits on your finger. Designed to look like jewelry rather than wearable, the ring comes with a titanium outer shell coated with tungsten carbide and boasts a beautiful metallic finish. Beneath that is a ring of electronics embedded in hypoallergenic resin. This makes the ring durable, comfortable, and waterproof up to 7 feet. The outer tungsten carbide coating is five times harder than tool steel (the kind used in workshop equipment), making the ring virtually scratch and dent resistant.
Beneath its tiny fruit loop-sized exterior is some impressive technology. The Ring comes with a 6-axis motion sensor, a contactless temperature sensor, a PPG sensor that detects heat generation, a Bluetooth Low Energy 5 module, and a battery that lasts about a week on a full charge. (However, we recommend charging during the day so you can run sleep tracking at night).
The Ring sends data to a companion smartphone app (available for both Android and iOS). This app does the math and presents insights on how to better plan your life for better health, sleep, and recovery. The magic lies in the fact that you can see your metabolic stats in real time and compare them with historical stats. , allowing you to manage your health more insightfully.
The Ultra Human Ring comes in 7 different sizes ranging from US 6 to US 12, and we plan to send out sizing kits so backers can choose the right size and fit before we actually ship the hardware. . In addition to size, donors can also choose the color of the ring. Ring colors are available in Cyber Grey, Bionic Gold, Aster Black, and Space Silver. You can also get a wireless charging dock to help refill the ring’s battery every four to six days. Just in time for your New Year’s fitness resolutions!
