Finding a suitable adjustable dumbbell can be difficult, but after seeing the rep’s fitness QuickDraw adjustable dumbbells, it has been rave reviewed on famous whimsical sites redditI was excited to give them a gyre. Unlike traditional dumbbells where you need to buy multiple pairs to accommodate a variety of exercises, or older dial-based adjustable systems that are tedious to change, QuickDraw Dumbbells uses a unique slide-and-lock mechanism aimed at making the process faster and more convenient, but still doesn’t force you to buy multiple pairs. QuickDraws is not the only system with this approach, but it differentiates itself from its competitors ( Bowflex or Power Block) It has a more traditional dumbbell shape and a faster weight change process.

While not perfect, the quick draw is a sensible compromise between traditional dumbbell sets and more expensive adjustable systems. Their minor noise and weight limitations are easily hidden by their key strengths: spatial efficiency, rapid adjustment and solid construction. For those in the market for versatile space Strength Training Solutions, you’ve found what you’re looking for here.

Space efficient design Perfect for small apartments

Personally, the space-efficient design is my number one selling point for these dumbbells. I’m pretty small – someone can say “very teenager” – two bedroom apartments in Brooklyn. The amount of boxes reached the entrance of these weights was difficult at first, but once assembled, the quick draw clearly rocks the space-saving design and offers similar functionality to just a few full-way tracks in the footprint. The only warning is that their cradles are rather long. So I had to be strategic about which corners I pushed in when I wasn’t using them. However, it wasn’t really a hassle after setup. (Do you make it clear that I don’t have a dedicated home gym exactly?)

Please don’t get me wrong. Finally, QuickDraws do It will take up a considerable amount of space. But I was not misunderstood. If you are ordering something essentially condensed in one adjustable set, you need to manage your expectations about how small the product is reasonably small. In the photo below you can see the weights against the sides of my laptop for the scale. It’s not that bad, especially when compared to the alternatives.

Quick Weight Changes (Read: Live to their Name)

Quick weight changes are the heading feature here and are delivered by Rep Fitness. The weight switching is fast and intuitive. Simply switch one switch or multiple switches at once at a time and there is a fast weight change. Alternatively, you can instantly increase the weight of the dumbbell with two flips (one on each side). This worked for me and made it especially subjective, but I can see the sound that ensures the new plate is very satisfying.

However, important safety notes: To prevent potential accidents, always make sure that the weight of the change is safely locked before performing any press moves. To do this, make sure that when properly secured, the red markings on the selector pin disappear completely. I made it a habit to give each dumbbell a quick shake test before starting the set. If there is movement or rattle, you will need to push the pin down further.

This quick change feature makes these dumbbells perfect for movements that take place on more traditional sets. I looked at my colleague Beth’s from home workout video and did the following exercise.

  • Bulgaria split squats (quad and glut section)

  • Curls and Press-1 Curls + 2 Press (Arms and Shoulders)

  • Single Leg Dead Lift (hamstrings and back)

  • Floor press (chest and arms)

  • Row of boards (upper back, arms, core)

You might not notice it with a typical fixed set, but even with a bit of rattle, they still feel completely solid. Additionally, for floor exercises such as rows of boards, flat bottom plates provide excellent stability. Even during the more dynamic movements pressed against the head, the weight remained firmly locked, but he was careful to check the locking mechanism before each set.

This quick adjustment works well, but the advantage here goes beyond convenience. These dumbbells are really a clutch when it comes to saving money, as they effectively replace the entire traditional dumbbell rack. If you know that you’ll need a range of racks in the end (despite a rack that costs only £60), QuickDraws is a low cost, and is an economical way to get a similar experience thanks to the switch system.

A solid construction process that oddly stimulates confidence

Quickweight changes are the biggest asset of this product, but also the most nervous. This has discovered that the self-organizing process (reducing IKEA furniture) is in fact a blessing of disguise. By putting these dumbbells together yourself, you personally increase my confidence in the product by understanding their mechanisms in a close relationship. Whenever I heard a slight rattle or click sound while using these weights, I knew what it was being produced and that it was not a true structural flaw.

My biggest concern is that there are two central support right away where you hold the weight. They seem intrusive at first, so I was definitely on my guard against them, but I found that they actually offer unexpected benefits. They’re not the only ones do not have It interferes with most movements, but also serves as a handy handle for exercises such as dumbbell pullovers. The flat spot of the weight is another clever design element that will allow you to comfortably place it during a particular exercise. While changing the grips I was able to rest them easily on my thighs.

What do you think so far?

Audible spring mechanism and slight rattles in use

As mentioned here a little bit, the spring-loaded mechanism introduces some noise in people working next to their sleep partners and in noise-sensitive living situations. During dynamic movements there is a click you hear when changing weights. It’s not difficult to handle, but it’s something you should know beforehand. And, as I mentioned above, I personally love click sounds, but if you need to avoid that altogether, you can switch weights in slow motion to significantly reduce the noise it produces.

Weight is limited to a maximum of 60 pounds

The maximum weight is 60 pounds, and these dumbbells may not meet advanced lifters seeking progressive heavy overload. However, it provides ample resistance, especially for beginners and intermediate users, especially in home or apartment settings.

Pro Tip: Reading the weight count can be difficult. A simple hack is to use a silver paint pen to increase visibility in the cradle.

The price is difficult, but fair

For $429.99, these dumbbells are a serious purchase. So are they worth it? If you’re committed to investing in your own home gym, dumbbells are some sort of must-have item – I think these are the paths to go. Compared to competitors in the adjustable dumbbell market, Quick Draw is categorized into a medium to high price range. The Bowflex SelectTech model usually costs around $399, but only grows to 52.5 pounds, while a high-end power block set in a similar weight range costs around $550-600.

Still, buying an individual pair of 5-75 pound dumbbells in a 5-pound increment reveals the value proposition when you consider it to be over $1,500 (occupying a significant amount of space).

Bottom line: These dumbbells live up to the hype

My ultimate judgment is that as someone who can hardly fit into my life in my life, Quick Draw has a huge fusion of convenience, quality and functionality that justifies the price of the right user. I can confidently recommend to fitness enthusiasts in other cities and home gym builders looking for sensible and saving strength training solutions. Manage your expectations about maximum weight and potential noise levels.
