Rich Burketta professional rugby player turned strength and mobility coach (and fellow cycling buddy), highly recommends this trap bar for deadlifts. By shifting more of the load to your legs rather than your hips, it’s a safer alternative to traditional barbells, yet highly effective for building strength. It’s also compact (144cm long) but can store about 3 plates per side, making it a good choice if you’re short on space at home.

Rowing, which works nine different muscle groups, is one of the best all-in-one workouts that combines strength building with low-impact cardio. This rowing machine is a smaller, lighter, and more affordable version of the brand’s Pro model, making it perfect for home use, but with impressive specs. A 16-inch HD touchscreen streams over 5,000 live or on-demand classes. It’s very smooth to paddle, near silent due to electromagnetic resistance, and can be stored against a wall to save space.

Its compact footprint allows it to sit unobtrusively in the corner of a room. It also has a very solid structure and allows for smooth pedal operation. It’s also relatively quiet and works with Zwift and other training apps in ERG mode, but also with the brand’s free “Hub” classes.

Echelon Stride-6 Auto-Fold Connected Treadmill

A reasonably sized and reasonably priced running deck. It’s well-cushioned, quiet, and folds down to just 25 cm (25 cm) in height (you can slip it under your bed or store it relatively discreetly against the wall). The downside is the lack of an integrated screen. You will need your own tablet to stream during your workout.
