A Thanet personal trainer and fitness studio owner has been nominated for two of the industry’s top awards.
Dean Perry, owner of OC Dean’s Fitness in New Street, Margate, has been shortlisted in the Male Personal Trainer and Male Fitness Trainer categories at this year’s British Fitness Awards.
Now in its 10th year, the awards annually recognise achievement within the industry among both independent and commercial businesses.
Every business/individual working in the UK fitness industry will be given the opportunity to be nominated and finalists will be selected by public vote.
The awards ceremony will take place at the Rum Warehouse in Liverpool on September 14th.
Dean, a father of one from Ramsgate, has been working in the fitness industry for over 20 years since his passion was ignited when he won an award whilst training with the Army.
The 43-year-old said: “To even be nominated for one award, let alone two, at such a prestigious and recognised event as the British Fitness Awards, is an absolute thrill.”
“I was surprised to be shortlisted but now I’m incredibly happy to have been shortlisted and to be attending the awards ceremony in Liverpool. As the only personal trainer from Kent to be nominated, I want to win this award for us and represent Thanet and all that we do in the industry.”
“A lot of bigger cities are always in the spotlight but we seem to get pushed to the side, so just to be involved is a great honour and I hope I can be the first person to be nominated and represent Thanet.”
“I want to sincerely thank everyone who has voted for me so far, and also thank everyone who may vote for me before the ceremony.”
Voting ends on August 16th.
