“As a form of physical activity that integrates exercise, entertainment, and sociability, dance has the inherent benefit of increasing motivation to exercise.”
“A duration of 3 months or more and creative dance forms will further aid in achieving clinical goals regarding improved body composition.”
“Dance maintains and strengthens the body shape of the participants, while at the same time reducing fat.”
“Additionally, dance is particularly suitable for young people under the age of 45,” says Chan.
The research team conducted 10 different studies on 646 people suffering from obesity.
Researchers note that the more creative the dance style, the greater the positive change.
The study also included overweight children and patients with Parkinson's disease, both of whom showed measured improvements.
The study authors pointed out the difference between dancing and regular aerobic exercise and other intensive training styles, noting that because dancers get a full-body workout, they reduce the risk of fatigue quickly, and that dancers are less likely to lose weight when it comes to losing weight. He pointed out that it is clearly more advantageous.
