‘Succession’ cast answers burning questions on new season

by Universalwellnesssystems

(CNN) the final season of “Inheritance” Starts on Sunday.

Centered around the Roy family and the complex family dynamics surrounding wealth and power, the series explosives trailer for the HBO show. (HBO, like CNN, is owned by Warner Bros. Discovery.)

Starring Brian Cox Logan Roy, the patriarch of the multi-billion dollar Roy family that owns the media conglomerate Waystar Royco. His children (played by Jeremy Strong, Sarah Snook, Kieran Culkin, and Alan Ruck) not only vie for control of the company, but presumably for his love and admiration.

CNN caught up with the star at the premiere in New York City earlier this week to answer our most pressing questions about the new season.

Will Tom and Sib ever end?

Matthew Macfadyen, who plays Tom Wamsgans, has spoken out about his character’s decision to keep Logan’s knowledge of the children’s rebellion a secret.

“I didn’t actually betray,” McFadden defended. “I think I just made a calculated decision to side with my father-in-law, which was probably the most horrible. I took, you know, a lot of rounds from everyone. A thousand times.”

He pretended to be shy about Tom and Shiv’s future, saying the couple were “in a bit of a dark place… sad.”

what about greg

Nicholas Brown, who plays Greg Hersh, the series’ Insider outsider, has finally learned the rules of the Roy Family Game after last season. But what does that mean for his future? ?

“You’re going to upset some people,” Brown teased. “Greg doesn’t want to upset anyone, but he plays it the wrong way sometimes. yeah.”

Brown added that “the dynamics have changed” and believes Greg is “in a good position” at the start of the season, as is his ally Tom.

“Things have changed with (Tom) and Shiv. He’s free. He’ll bring me in. We’re on a great side now where you feel like ‘Oh, you can never lose,'” he said. Said… “And partnering with Logan is a winning game, right? I think we all feel pretty good. Of course, it’s going to be shit.”

Logan Roy and his children’s reconciliation?

Cox, the man at the center of the on-screen drama, says Logan seems to have complete disdain for children, but that’s not the case.

“He doesn’t drive them to the ground. You know, he’s over it,” he said. “There was a point where he might have been. I think he’s very sad because in a way he lost them. They were his children and he always loved them. That’s the point.” is.”

Cox said that early in the show’s run, he asked creator Jesse Armstrong if he thought Logan loved children.

“He said, ‘Oh yeah, he really loves his kids.’ So that’s always been great for me,” he said. “But it’s also Logan’s Achilles heel. The fact that his children love him in ways he can’t get out of… love is complicated.”

What’s next for Lucas Mattson and Waystar Loiko?

Alexander Skarsgård, the CEO of a controversial tech company, is back. At the end of season 3, a merger between his company, his GoJo and Waystar Royco, was considered, but Matsson offered to buy the company.

Skarsgard said of his character, “I’m going to make the impossible possible.” I think it’s more than just buying another company and increasing your wealth. To do this, Stockholm, Sweden. And that’s why he wants to do it.”

A spin-off in progress?

If you want more of the world of Succession after the series concludes, be prepared to crush that dream.

Asked about a potential new series populated by familiar “Succession” faces, Armstrong said, “I don’t think there will be a spinoff.”

“I think what I’m interested in is something that’s very receptive to me and could occupy the same tone of the show as the way I like to write it.” Something that has tone could be interconnected…I’m going to take some time off.It was a big beast to wrestle with.So it’s going to take me a while.”

“Succession” will begin its fourth and final season on March 26 at 9 PM ET on HBO.
