St John of God Subiaco Hospital pilots Citadel’s oncology IMS

Saint John of God Subiaco Hospital is the latest hospital to test Citadel Health’s oncology information management system.

The CHARM Evolution system went live for a pilot at the hospital’s Comprehensive Cancer Center.

function

CHARM Evolution serves as a centralized oncology patient record combining treatment plans, appointment schedules, and simplified reporting of all outpatient visits and same day and overnight inpatient services.

why it matters

Saint John of God Subiaco chose an oncology solution in hopes of improving chemotherapy delivery and enabling its care team to consistently deliver safe patient care.

Citadel says the system “provides clinicians with remote access to relevant clinical information and streamlines paperwork, reducing the risk of errors and allowing more time for patient care.” is also added.

In addition, clinicians and pharmacists can clearly monitor all prescriptions and treatments, leveraging robust data for deeper insights and long-term clinical trials.

the bigger trend

This latest run of CHARM Evolution follows recent implementations at Mater Private Hospital Rockhampton in Queensland and Monash Health in Victoria. Earlier this year, St Andrews Toowoomba Hospital also signed a five-year contract to deploy oncology IMS across hospitals.

CHARM Evolution also became the first oncology system to be integrated with the Australian Government’s My Health Record platform. This means that summaries of chemotherapy events can now be automatically uploaded to My Health Record, giving patient care teams instant access to such records.
