The Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Netherlands, in collaboration with Siddhalepa Ayurveda Resort & Spa, organized a tourism promotion event with a special focus on Sri Lanka’s indigenous healthcare system.
According to the Embassy of Sri Lanka in the Netherlands, the event was held on October 22, 2024 at the embassy premises.
Dutch travel agents, tour operators and tourism media attended the event to learn about the benefits of Ayurveda in Sri Lanka and the leisure/health treatments available in this field.
Rekha Gunasekera, Sri Lanka’s Ambassador to the Netherlands, addressed the gathering and thanked the participants and industry representatives for their support in promoting Sri Lanka as a top holiday destination among Dutch travelers.
She also expressed her willingness to work closely with them to further increase the number of tourists from the Netherlands to Sri Lanka. He further said that the number of Dutch tourists visiting Sri Lanka this year has already exceeded last year’s record and the Netherlands is among the top 10 tourist sourcing markets for Sri Lanka.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ushan Edirisinghe, Senior Marketing Manager, Siddhalepa Ayurveda Resort & Spa, gave a presentation on Sri Lanka Ayurveda, the history of Siddhalepa Ayurveda Resort & Spa, and its products.
Participants were given the opportunity to sample Siddhalepa products and served a variety of healthy Sri Lankan foods. A raffle was also held and the lucky winners received a gift certificate for a week’s full board stay at Siddhalepa Ayurveda Resort & Spa. (Newswire)
