Spring Valley Blintz is recalling 1,200 boxes of its Potato Blintz that were mistakenly filled with cheese Blintz, according to the Orthodox Coalition, which does the company’s kosher certification, and the FDA.
The error came to light after being reported by a customer on Wednesday.
The recalled blint was 13 oz. Carton contains 6 individual blints. The affected lot is 1513MMR7831RE (marked on top of carton), UPC is 813801 00321 (marked on back of carton). They shipped from June 1st to July 5th to distributors and retailers in New York, New Jersey, Maryland and Florida.
OU Executive Rabbi Coordinator Rabbi Moshe Elephant said: Hamodia,”this is, hash gachathemidis (constant monitoring). Since this human error was discovered, we have been working with the company and have taken steps to ensure that this does not happen again. “
Ravi Elephant said consumers should return the goods to the store to get a refund.
