A southern Iowa man has been sentenced following a guilty plea.

Theodore Richard Rioteau Jr., 46, of Knoxville, was arrested on May 1st.

He was charged with one count of insurance fraud presenting false information, falsification of records, and third-degree theft.

Liotteau pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of fourth-degree theft.

He was sentenced last week and given a deferred sentence. He was also ordered to pay an unspecified civil fine of $430 in restitution and was sentenced to one year of probation.

The charges stem from an investigation that began in May 2023 after the Iowa Department of Insurance Fraud Unit received a complaint about Mr. Liotteau, owner of Chiropractic Hut Liotteau Family Chiropractic in Pleasantville, Iowa. It started.

The complaint alleges that Riotaud billed patients’ insurance companies for services that were not performed between October 2021 and May 2023.
