name: Nicholas Joel Lyon (@njltheawesome)

Year:28

height: 1.8m

weight: 73kg

Profession: Personal trainer/fitness model

situation: attached

food: I mainly focus my diet on protein-rich foods. I eat out a lot and choose healthier options, like ordering chicken breast instead of regular chicken for chicken rice.

I don’t follow strict dietary restrictions, but if I have a photo or video shoot scheduled, I will cook some food myself, such as shrimp, fish, and eggs.

exercise: I train most days of the week, focusing primarily on strength and power. My training consists primarily of weighted calisthenics such as weighted muscle-ups, weighted pull-ups, and weighted dips, followed by traditional weightlifting.

Q: Were you active in sports when you were younger?

A: As a student, I was passionate about many sports and represented my school in soccer, floorball, cross country, and track and field.

In addition to sports, since 2007 he was already involved in dancing and performing at various events.

What have you become more passionate about as you get older?

As a former performer at Universal Studios Singapore, I have only learned performance-based skills such as roller skating, stilts, poi, and unicycling in the last few years.

You are a very active person and have many physical hobbies. Please tell us more.

Currently, in addition to gymnastics and powerlifting, I also do break dancing, exotic dancing, stilt walking, roller skating, hiking, inline skating, ice skating, longboarding, surf skating, pole dancing, trickling, unicycling, and kettlebell juggling. I chose to become a generalist (or some might say jack of all trades) rather than specialize in just one sport.

I love learning new skills and experiencing different aspects of life. Our society usually expects us to be niche in whatever we do. But I want to push the boundaries and show the world that it doesn’t have to be that way. Go out and learn and experience everything.

What are your fitness goals?

My fitness goals have always been to push the limits of the human body, to become as strong as possible in life, and to become a very versatile athlete.

As a personal trainer, fitness model, and performer, do you feel pressured to stay in shape?

I have already maintained a body fat percentage of around 10% or less for the past 20 years or so. Although a certain level of appearance is necessary for the job,

I have always lived a very active lifestyle and it helps me stay healthy, so I don’t feel any pressure.

Have you ever felt insecure about yourself?

No, I never felt insecure about myself. About 10 years ago, my father developed a life-threatening illness and almost died. I was extremely stressed at that point. I would go breakdancing for 6 hours every day (back in my Bboy days), then come home around midnight and go to the fitness corner to train myself.

You push your body to its limits until you’re too tired to think, and then you fall asleep right after. Since that event, I have learned to look at life as if it could be taken away from me at any time, and I have learned to appreciate everything around me.

When was the last time you felt least confident?

I’m an extreme introvert and as a child I didn’t even have the courage to order food for myself. But when she was 17, she won a modeling competition and became the face of her school. That was the turning point.

After that, I was scouted by several modeling agencies. My job there was to talk to all kinds of people, do catwalks, and participate in photo and video shoots with a large group of staff. In addition, I have performed dance in various places and participated in Universal Studios Singapore as a performer to get used to performing, acting and dancing in front of a crowd.

Have you ever struggled with your body?

No, I’ve never allowed myself to go above a certain body fat all my life, even when I had a bad injury and had to train for over a year to get back to where I started. I can say that. I have maintained a weight of 73kg-75kg for many years.

Are you happy with your body?

Yes, I have always been happy with my body. My current body has been honed by the various skill sets I’ve accumulated over the years, including skating, dancing, flipping, gymnastics, weightlifting, and other performing arts.

Do you have any comments about your body?

I got only positive comments about my body.

If you could change anything about yourself, would you?

No, it’s not. People don’t understand the time and sacrifices I’ve made for my current lifestyle and body, and I wouldn’t give up anything because of it.
