Sinead O’Connor reached out to neighbors and spoke candidly about the depression she struggled with before she died.
The legendary Irish musician died Wednesday at the age of 56, a year and a half after losing his 17-year-old son Shane to suicide.
O’Connor, who had battled mental health issues all her life, had moved to London a few months before she died, and neighbors now say they met her at the building and spoke openly.
Many of them did not know she was a pioneering musician until after her death.

Police found the musician “unresponsive” at his London home this week and confirmed he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of death has not been determined, and an autopsy is planned.
After news of her death was first reported by the Irish media, O’Connor’s family released a statement confirming the shocking news.
They said, “It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Mr Sinead.
“Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy during this extremely difficult time.”
Besides Shane, O’Connor was also the mother of three other children: Jake, Roisin, and Yeshua.
