One of New York City’s oldest kosher pizzerias has closed permanently. simmons pizza The restaurant in Queens’ Kew Garden Hills (technically ‘Flushing’) will open for the last time tomorrow, June 30th.
This pizzeria has been in business for over 53 years since 1969 and is a nostalgic memory for those who grew up in KGH.
In the words of long-time (former) KGH resident Avi Blum, “Like Motsey Shavos, the early Shabosim, Friday lunch was crazy.
