Renton, Washington — Seattle Sounders FC and Providence The youth mental health-focused Renton High School announced a partnership Friday when the club unveiled its new kit.
The partnership between the two organizations will work with the Renton School District to develop and provide programming and services to improve the mental health of students.
The organization made an announcement at a special all-hands assembly at Renton High School to strengthen its commitment to the Sounders community before opening a new training center in Long Acres in 2024.
“From our club’s perspective, working with community-oriented partners is important to Sounders FC’s overall mission. We have found a partner that matches that of ,” said Saunders. Adrian Hanauer, owner of FC Majority.

Sounders and Providence have outlined key points of their partnership to address the mental health wellness of students. Some of them included increasing access to mental health services, implementing mental health education programs, mental health immersion sports camps, and promoting Providence resources.
The organization said the development of these programs will be part of a long-term commitment to school districts serving more than 15,000 students.
“As two Renton-based organizations, Providence and Seattle Sounders FC have sought ways to partner to improve the health of our communities. One is the mental health crisis of young people, where a passion for a sport like soccer is often a powerful way to bring people together for a common cause.”
Providence will also become Sounders’ medical services and healthcare provider.
As part of the partnership, Providence will also take over rights to the Sounders’ jersey, which will appear on the front of the club’s home and away kits from this season.
“From our first conversations with Providence, this partnership has always been about shared values, particularly our coordinated commitment to our local youth and making our communities healthier places to live.” Hanauer said.
