SILVER CREEK — The last few years have been tough for students and staff at schools across the country. Silver Creek Central School District is trying to address these struggles as best we can.
Michelle Helmer, Director of Curriculum and Education at Silver Creek, shared the district’s professional learning plan with the Silver Creek Board of Education at a recent meeting. The plan emphasized her three goals for the school board.
The district is also making efforts “Nurtures character and improves overall social-emotional health” By working with trauma professionals and student/staff mental health professionals and undergoing behavior management training. The district also has a growing focus on diversity, equity and inclusion.
As shared at a recent School Board meeting, the bidding process for Silver Creek’s capital expenditures will begin in early October. “I’m looking forward to seeing how it turns out for us.” Silver Creek Superintendent Todd Crandall said:
