TUCSON (KVOA) – A resident of Saddlebrook was viciously attacked by a bobcat on Wednesday.
Arizona Game and Fish said the man was being treated for rabies.
“Bobcat attacks are rare, but they usually involve rabies. We strongly doubt that this morning is the case. .
Residents fought off attacks using lawn chairs.
“I had injuries to my right leg and left arm. I don’t know if they were bites, but they were definitely scratches. In such cases, I would definitely recommend rabies treatment,” Hart said.
Greg Smith has worked at Saddlebrook for nearly 20 years.
“I’ve lived here for 18 and 19 years and this was the first time I heard a bobcat attack a person, so this is the first surprise,” Smith said.
Nick Palumbo has lived on Flower Ridge Road for over ten years. He is very worried about his rabid bobcat.
“Sure, it’s frightening that they can do so much damage and can hurt and maim you. Let’s put it that way.
Arizona Game and Fish urged Saddlebrook residents to call 623-236-7201 if they see a bobcat.
