According to the study, Sacramento ranks as one of the major cities with the highest rate of neighborhood complaints.

(FOX40.COM) — Sacramento has a new reputation as one of the nation’s major cities with the “highest rate of neighborhood complaints,” according to a recent study conducted by the moving company known as MoverDB.

This conclusion was drawn by the number of calls to 3-1-1, a phone line and app that some cities offer as a non-emergency contact for city services. Neighborhood noises, strange odors, barking dogs, illegal dumping, street light problems, flooding, etc. can be reported to his 3-1-1 in the Sacramento area. The study was reportedly conducted over 12 months and concluded in August 2023.

The farm-to-fork city ranks second in the U.S. with 11,156 complaints per year per 10,000 residents, according to MoverDB. This follows the East Coast city of Baltimore, which has a total of 17,551 complaints per 10,000 residents, according to the study.

“The City of Sacramento encourages residents to call 311 for customer service requests, including obtaining information or setting up new services,” MoverDB reported. “This may explain why Sacramento ranks so high on this list.”

Although Sacramento ranks second on MoverDB’s national list, the area with the fewest complaints is Carmichael, with just 168 total complaints per 10,000 residents.

Other California cities ranked highly in list of complainers Based on 10,000 residents:

San Francisco (9,384 complaints)
Berkeley (4,874 complaints)
Los Angeles (3,406 complaints)
san jose (2,775 complaints)
