Rhode Island ranks second in the U.S. for vaccinations
Rhode Island is among the nation’s leaders in vaccinations.
The state ranks second, behind Massachusetts.
According to the WHO, vaccines prevent 4 million to 5 million deaths a year worldwide.

Rhode Island ranks first in the latest HPV vaccination rates for teens ages 13-17.
Rhode Island also ranks first in adult flu vaccination rates.
To find out which states are vaccinating the most, go to wallet hub analyzed 50 states and the District of Columbia across 16 key metrics, from the percentage of children vaccinated to the percentage of people without health insurance to flu vaccination rates among adults.
Rhode Island Immunizations (1=best; 25=average):
3rd place – Influenza vaccination rates for children aged 6 months to 17 years
#1 – Percentage of youth ages 13-17 who have received the latest HPV vaccination
12th – Percentage of ACWY vaccinations among teenagers and men ages 13-17
1st – Adult influenza vaccination rate
22nd – Percentage of adults vaccinated against tetanus
22nd – Percentage of adults 60 and older who have received the shingles vaccine
6th – Percentage of children aged 19-35 months living in poverty who received the 7-dose vaccine.
5th – Percentage of private non-institutionalized population without health insurance
20th – Percentage of children under 6 participating in immunization information systems
