Republican bill would classify ‘Trump derangement’ as a mental illness in Minnesota – InForum

st. Paulo – Republicans introduced the bill Monday to define “Trump Mad Syndrome” as a mental illness under Minnesota law.

The bill defines Trump’s mutiny syndrome as “an acute onset of delusions in ordinary people who are responding to President Donald J. Trump’s policies and the president.”

Senator Eric Lucero, r-st. Michael is the highest author of the bill.

SF2589

), was introduced on Monday, March 17th and introduced to the Health and Welfare Committee. Co-authors are Steve Drazkowski, R-Mazeppa. Nathan Wesenberg, R-Little Falls; Justin Aichon, R Grand Rapids. Glen Gruenhagen, R-Glencoe.

“Mental illness is a real problem for many people, and I have supported resources for those in need,” Lucero said in a statement Monday. That’s exactly what this bill emphasizes. ”

Lucero said in the weeks since Trump took office, Democrats tried to make Trump a “scapegoat” in Minnesota’s issues.

The bill identifies symptoms of syndrome as “a common hysteria induced by Trump and creating indistinguishable differences in legitimate policy in President Donald J. Trump’s actions and signs of psychopathology.” Psychosis pathology generally refers to disorders or functional disorders that affect a person’s mental and/or behavioral health.

The bill outlines two ways syndromes express. “Expressive expressions of intense hostility towards President Donald J. Trump, an obvious act of attack and violence against those who support President Donald J. Trump, or symbolizes President Donald J. Trump.”

Majority leader Erin Murphy, DFL-st. Paul said in a statement Monday that the bill should be withdrawn immediately and is “trivial” to mental health issues.

“This is probably the worst bill in Minnesota history,” she said. “If that makes sense as a joke, it’s a waste of staff time and taxpayer resources that trivialize serious mental health issues. If the author is serious, it’s a humiliation for free speech and an expression of dangerous levels of loyalty to an authoritarian president.”
