In 2022, the Huntsman Mental Health Institute will see 16,847 patients at more than 20 locations in Utah and Idaho seeking treatment for conditions ranging from major depressive disorder to suicidal ideation.

HMHI CEO Dr. Mark Rapaport said: “We are working across disciplines to develop new and better interventions and approaches for complex syndromes, to prevent suicide and to end stigma. We can provide an opportunity for people suffering from mental health disorders to live lives of dignity.”

According to the report, HMHI is making care more accessible by raising awareness of gaps in mental health services and expanding crisis management services. The Institute will work with state and national partners to improve quality of care by deploying 988 mental health crisis lines in Utah and expanding his SafeUT program, which delivered 349 life-saving interventions in 2022.
