St. Paul, Minn. – Yesterday, Rep. Robert Biermann (DFL, Apple Valley) was appointed DFL Co-Chairman of the House Health Financing and Policy Committee.
“My neighbors in Apple Valley tell me that exorbitant health care costs continue to strain household budgets and contribute significantly to people simply foregoing the health care they need when they need it most.” Congressman Biermann said. “Minnesota people deserve quality, accessible, and affordable care. I am committed to working with my Republican co-chairs to find solutions to reduce these costs and improve access. I’m looking forward to it.”
Congressman Biermann served as vice chair of the House Health Care Financing and Policy Committee from 2023 to 2024. He helped inform Minnesota of its new emergency insulin framework and get insulin to people who can’t afford it. In 2023, Congressman Biermann also spearheaded nationally-led legislation to protect the interests of Minnesotans during health system mergers, consolidations, and transactions.
The 2025 legislative session is scheduled to begin on January 14th.
