NEW DELHI: Reliance Property & Casualty Insurance Company announced on Tuesday that it has been awarded a contract to introduce public health insurance for the state of Meghalaya. RGICL plans to implement Mega Health Insurance Scheme and Phase 6 of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.
“The contract was won through a competitive bidding process, with RGICL being the winning bidder and joining with PMJAY to implement the revised MHIS 6 scheme to provide insurance to all eligible beneficiaries at Rs 5,30,000 on a family floater basis. We will provide it,” RGICL said in a statement here.
According to the report, the state government has decided to review the medical benefit package and other terms of the MHIS 6 insurance policy to cover more than 700,000 households in Meghalaya and to accommodate secondary and tertiary hospitalizations. He said he plans to offer comprehensive health insurance. , outpatient care, diagnostic testing, and follow-up care.

Health Minister Ampaline Lindo said the government of Meghalaya has developed a state universal health care scheme by improvising the structural framework of Rashtriya Swastiya Bhima Yojana (RSBY).
The scheme provides insurance to all residents of the state except those employed by the state and central government, she said.
