Deciding what to make for dinner can be stressful, especially when you’re short on time. Finding meals that are good for you, your wallet, and the environment, on the other hand, is another problem entirely.

A new interpretation of “fish and chips”
Tamika R. Francis introduced a sustainable alternative to traditional fish and chips: Her local station, WBUR Boston.
During her time in St. Lucia, Francis explains, “I worked with a women’s fishmongers’ cooperative and learned that fish can be eaten, from the guts to the skin, and that the consumption of shark meat and other unsuitable seafood is rooted in pre-commercial artisanal practices. With education, we can find more sustainable options, so I learned about shark as a sustainable whitefish alternative to the over-consumption of mako sharks and other shark species.”
The Atlantic has a wide variety so it’s a great alternative if you’re near the East Coast.

Easy to eat seasonal roasted root vegetable salad
One way to develop eating habits that are more sensitive to the demands of the climate is to eat what is in season (tomatoes in summer, apples in fall, greens in spring).
