Officials said the recall includes Burn Boot Camp Afterburn, which is manufactured by Doctor’s Scientific and sold at retail stores nationwide operated by gym franchise Burn Boot Camp. “Food-borne foreign objects that are flexible and not sharp can cause minor injuries such as temporary choking and gastrointestinal system damage,” the food manufacturer said in the notice.
No illnesses or injuries were reported. According to Doctor’s Scientific, the company initiated the recall after receiving complaints from consumers about Burn Boot Camp.
The recalled 60-gram protein bars have one of three lot numbers printed on the back of each bar’s foil and on the bottom of each cardboard case: 181, 184, or 187.
The company said people who purchased the recalled protein bars should not eat them and should return them to the place of purchase or throw them away.
