Planet Fitness plans to open more locations in Central Jersey.
The gym franchise will join the tenant mix at Brewster Shopping Center in Watchung and Middlesex Corner in Middlesex Borough, according to Levin Management Corporation (LMC), which manages both properties.
Planet Fitness has built a 21,850-square-foot site at Blue Star Shopping Center. The 420,000 square foot retail center on Route 22 is in the midst of a major redevelopment planned by LMC, with additional available space ranging from 1,200 square feet to 50,000 square feet.
At Middlesex Corner, Planet Fitness will fill half of a standalone building previously occupied by Acme on the Route 28/Bound Brook Road property.

Both new locations will be franchise-owned by the same operator that operates dozens of Planet Fitness gyms in New Jersey and other markets.
Sidney Singer, LMC’s vice president of leasing, said fitness concepts play an active role in today’s retail industry, driving significant traffic at properties such as Brewster Shopping Center and Middlesex Corner. He says there is.
“In recent years, we have seen an influx of boutique and affordable fitness concept rentals at LMC properties and across the country,” Singer said in a news release. “Chains like Planet Fitness have been particularly successful in attracting consumers because they offer a quality fitness experience at an affordable price in a welcoming, non-intimidating environment. .”
