In response to the factory strike, Planet Fitness locations in the Flint and Saginaw areas are opening their doors to factory workers from all industries who want to exercise.
From midnight on Friday, Sept. 29 until close of business on Sunday, Oct. 1, visitors are under no obligation to attend to take advantage of this opportunity, according to a news release.
“Support from our local community is the reason for our success,” said Brian Leaf, Planet Fitness franchisee and CEO of EPIC Fitness Group, in a news release. “Given everything going on in our community, this is an opportunity for us to give back during these difficult times. Exercise, such as walking, jogging, or cycling, can help reduce anxiety, depression, and negative moods. We hope you’ll stop by Planet Fitness this weekend for a little stress relief.”
EPIC Fitness Group and Impact Fitness, a Planet Fitness franchise division, jointly own and operate 10 Planet Fitness locations in the Flint and Saginaw areas. Factory employees interested in taking advantage of the free workouts simply need to come into a Planet Fitness location with both a photo ID and an employee ID.
All Planet Fitness locations feature carefully selected cardio and strength training equipment, a 30-minute circuit training area and functional training, as well as amenities such as full-service locker rooms, tanning, massage chairs, and hydromassage beds. is provided. There are 10 Planet Fitness gyms in the area.
