The new tablets areHelps initiate the body’s natural processes to remove waste products‘ reports Gizmodo. From the report: Vibrant still comes in pill form, but you must first activate it by inserting it into a pod connected to your smartphone before you swallow it (before you go to bed each night). The tablets pass through the body in the same way as food and other drugs taken by mouth, but they are not dissolved or broken down by stomach acid. Designed to withstand even accidental bites. Instead, small vibrations (3 seconds on, 3 seconds off) at 3-second intervals stimulate neurons that induce peristalsis, resulting in relaxation.
After swallowing, the tablet vibrates for about 2 hours, rests for about 6 hours, and vibrates for another 2 hours. It stays completely intact until it leaves the body (hopefully along with a blockage that causes constipation) and then is washed away. You wouldn’t want to reuse it after your first great voyage.
The effectiveness of the pill was tested in a study of 200 people coping with chronic constipation who took it nightly for eight weeks, with 40% of the group reporting at least one additional bowel movement each week. Of the 149 additional people who took placebo during the study, only 23% of them reported having at least one bowel movement per week. Unlike most laxatives, Vibrant does not cause side effects such as diarrhea. However, very few subjects were able to actually feel the pill vibrating inside their body.
