The side effects of Ozempic reportedly leave people who look like “a melted candles” as they report a surge in patients seeking cosmetic procedures after a dramatic weight loss from the drug.
Weight loss medications like Ozempic, Wegovy, and Mounjaro offer significant health benefits, but many people have their skin drooped into their bodies.
This problem is not a direct side effect of the drug, but occurs because the stretched skin does not simply return to its position while the adipose tissue is contracting rapidly.
One of the most visible effects is called “Ozempic Face,” where the patient appears to mature in sunken eyes, cheeks and hollow temples. Even people in their 30s and 40s can be affected.

In some cases, face and neck lifts are required, but new non-invasive treatments have emerged.
One promising development involves the infusion of donated human fats that act as a scaffold, encouraging the body to create its own fat in the therapeutic area.
Rapid weight loss also causes severe sagging and contraction in the breast, and surgeons are seeking increased surgery in search of an increase in new slim patients.
Dr. Josh Waltzman, a LA-based plastic surgeon, explained:
Something like this:
One solution is must-pesi (breast augmentation surgery) using Galaflex mesh. This is called an “internal bra” that provides additional support.
Another option is the mastopexy of skin suspensions, reusing the patient’s excess skin to create an internal sling.
Skin changes are not confined to the face or chest, and many patients have excess skin left in their arms, legs and stomach.
Patrick Molcc, a UK-based plastic surgeon, warns about tummy tucks and body lifts. “These are the most dangerous tactics we carry out.”
“If venous thrombosis forms intravenously and can interfere with blood flow, there is a higher risk of venous thrombosis, which can be life-threatening if left untreated.”
Weight loss can also lead to something called an “ozenpic bat.”
Experts strongly advise Brazilian butt lifts (BBL) as a solution and note that 4,000 deaths are one, the most fatal of all cosmetic surgery.
Instead, non-surgical treatments like standard buttock lifts or radio frequency microneedles help to tighten the skin by transferring heat from the thin needle.

The manufacturer of cosmetic equipment is targeting GLP-1 patients with new machines that can provide surgical alternatives.
Sofwave uses ultrasound energy to improve skin relaxation by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin. Another device, Renuvion, uses heated helium gas to tighten loose skin.
However, experts should be careful to take risks with these devices. Former Baaps president Marc Pacifico warns that “thermoproducing devices can cause burns and many other complications.”
57-year-old Christine Burch lost six koku on Ozempic after weighing nearly 15th in 2021.
With weight loss, her face appears to be “skeletal” and her bottom “disappears.” However, rather than surgery, she chose dermatological fillers, Botox and Sculptra to restore her facial volume.
For her “Ozempic butt,” she chose Emsculpt Neo, a non-surgical treatment.
“For three months, I stopped suddenly and thought, ‘I’ve got my butt back,'” she said.
