GUILDERLAND, N.Y. (NEWS10) — People in Albany County enjoyed some fresh air on Tuesday when a new outdoor gym opened to the public. His 2,000-square-foot MVP Healthcare fitness center in Guilderland’s Tower Center Park features a wide variety of exercise equipment with hands-on tutorials.
Town officials said the aim of the project is to ensure equal access to fitness for everyone.
“It’s a huge park and there’s a lot to see, but this facility in particular adds another element,” said Guilderland City Superintendent Peter Barber. “We want to give people a chance. This is not for everyone, but it works for some. We want to make sure that we provide options that allow you to exercise optimally in places where you are not.”
Various events will be held at the outdoor gym this summer. You can sign up for a fitness class hosted by a personal trainer. Walk-ins are also welcome.
