Marietta, Ohio (WTRF) — Ohio State Police have issued a public health notice after a woman was charged with engaging in solicitation after testing positive for HIV. This is a third-degree felony.
Linda Lesses was charged in Washington County. Resse allegedly engaged in sexual acts between January and May 13, 2022, on Market Street in Marietta, Ohio.
Through the investigation, investigators say they have learned and identified at least 211 people who came into contact with Lesse.
Officers from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and Marietta Police Department will be calling any known phone numbers where this person may have been contacted. Officials say this is not a scam.
Officials said the people who received the calls were not in trouble and that agents would refer them to local health departments for HIV testing and treatment.
There are currently no hearings scheduled for Mr. Resses.
