The Plano-based hospital will bring additional support and resources for mental health to the Lubbock area early next year, adding more than 100 jobs to the area.
Oceans Behavioral Hospital, part of Oceans Healthcare, will provide inpatient and outpatient behavioral therapy services to people over the age of 50 in the region beginning in late January. The company was founded in his Louisiana state in 2004 and is now based in Plano with operations in his 33 locations in Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas.
Kim Guy, Vice President of Clinical Services, Oceans Behavioral Hospital, and Dax Parker, Vice President of Market Development, took time to discuss the future facility, which will be the group’s 11th in Texas.

The hospital offers inpatient and intensive outpatient programs.
“We treat depression, anxiety, and several behavioral disorders often associated with Alzheimer’s and other early stages of dementia in older adults.” It also treats people who suffer from both mental health and substance use disorders, comorbidities or dual diagnoses.”
Since conversations began about Oceans opening in the Lubbock area, Parker said the community, including the local medical center, has been “very excited.”
“There is such a huge need that the whole community, and the medical community there, have their arms wide open,” Parker said. I really hope to become the backbone of
Oceans goes beyond therapy with community outreach programs that educate people about services and mental health in general.
“We want to be mental health advocates so that people can get the treatment they need when they need it,” Parker said.
